Careganize Privacy Policy

Careganize is built privacy-first. The health and care records you enter stay privately on your device. To make your Careganize Circle work, a small amount of account and coordination data — your account, circle membership, invitations, and alerts — is handled by Careganize's secure servers. This policy explains exactly what that means.
1. What stays on your device
Care records — a recipient's name, age, conditions, medications, dialysis sessions, vitals, therapy logs, side effects, appointments, notes, and contacts — are stored locally on this device and, if you have iCloud backup enabled for the app, in your own private Apple iCloud account. We never receive a copy of them. They are not uploaded to or stored on our servers, and we cannot read or retrieve them. If you delete the app, those records are removed from this device and cannot be recovered by reinstalling or signing in on another device — though a copy may remain in your own Apple backup if backups are enabled.
2. Information we collect
To provide app functionality, our servers handle a limited set of data: (1) Account information — when you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email; we never see your Apple password. (2) Circle data — the members of your Careganize Circle, their roles, and acceptance status. (3) Invitations — if you invite someone, we use their contact information only to deliver the invitation. (4) Care Alerts you send to your circle. (5) Push notification tokens, so alerts can reach your phone.
3. How we use this information
Only to create and secure your account, connect you with your Careganize Circle, deliver Care Alerts and notifications to circle members, send invitations you initiate, and keep the service reliable and protected against abuse. We do not sell your information and have no advertising or cross-app tracking.
4. Notifications
Medication and visit reminders are local notifications scheduled by iOS on your device — their contents are not sent through our servers. Care Alerts you send to your circle are delivered as push notifications through our servers and Apple's push notification service; the alert text and sender name are processed by our server to route the notification to your circle's members.
5. Subscriptions
Careganize Plus is an optional subscription — the core app works without it. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and by our subscription provider, RevenueCat, solely to manage and validate your purchase. We receive anonymous purchase status (active or not) but never your name, payment details, or card information. See Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for how they handle purchase data.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your information. We share data only with the trusted service providers that make the app work — for example, Apple's push notification service to deliver alerts — and only as needed to provide Careganize. We may disclose information if required by law.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep account and circle information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete from our servers: your circle memberships, including the push notification token stored for your account; if you own a circle, that circle and everything in it — its member list, its pending and claimed invitations, and all alerts sent within it — which also removes that circle for every one of its members; invitations you claimed; and Care Alerts you sent. The app then erases the care records and preferences stored on this device. Deleting the app also removes on-device care records. Because care records are never uploaded, we cannot recover them after deletion. Careganize Plus purchases are billed and managed by Apple and are not cancelled by deleting your account. If you have an active eligible purchase, you can use Restore Purchases in Careganize to re-sync it with your Apple ID — manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. Third-party links
Tapping an address or contact may open Apple Maps, Phone, or Messages. Those Apple apps handle your interaction under Apple's own privacy terms.
9. Children's privacy
Careganize is intended for adult caregivers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Your control
You can edit or delete any care record at any time inside the app, turn notifications on or off in Settings or your device's system settings, leave a circle, or delete your account entirely. Because care records live on your device, you remain in full control of them — consider keeping your device backed up using Apple's backup options.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and reflect the changes within the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
